The Trireme is originated from ancient Corinth in Greece. It was a warship, fast and maneuverable. The basic weapon of the trireme was the wooden ram, which was coated with bronze and was affixed to the prow.
According to Thycydides (the first Greek historian), it was built with pine and fir. They used cypress for the interiors and also oak for the outer hulls.
